GM Pool Will Close for Maintenance
The Great Mills Swimming Pool will close for seasonal maintenance Friday, May 10, through Friday, May 24. During this time, the pool’s air supported dome structure will be removed, converting the pool to an outdoor facility. Other seasonal maintenance and staff training also will take place while the pool is closed.
Colleges Partner for Dual Degree Program
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore and College of Southern Maryland have partnered to provide a Dual Degree program enabling CSM students to complete a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in just five years.
Charges Dropped Against Fitzgerald CO
Former Fitzgerald CO Cmdr. Bryce Benson gives an 18-page rebuttal of charges against him regarding the 2017 collision with a merchant vessel that killed seven sailors. The Navy also dropped all criminal charges against Lt. Natalie Combs.

2nd Fleet Readies for Baltic Sea Exercise
After the US Navy’s new 2nd Fleet stands up later this month, its commander will push the USS Mount Whitney command ship, along with dozens of other NATO vessels, into the Baltic Sea to direct a major exercise primarily to track and meet Russian maneuvers in the North Atlantic and the Arctic.
Gift of Life Flag Goes Up at Hospital
