#IAMSTMARYS invites sponsors and participants to a Women’s Rally from 2-4 pm March 8 on the Square in Leonardtown, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.

Ceremony Commemorates Emancipation Day

Emancipation Day

A soil collection ceremony was held Nov. 1 in commemoration of lynching victim Benjamin Hance. Mr. Hance was said to have died in 1887 in St. Mary’s County. The Emancipation Day ceremony was one of healing and remembrance for the only documented lynching victim in the county.

Walthour Brings Lessons Back to Drayden School

Walthour Selected for Achievement Award

Research Building Design Unveiled @ Oct. 13 Forum

The Southern Maryland Higher Education Center Board of Governors will host a full-day, public forum on education and innovation Oct. 13, 2017, from 8 am to 5 pm and unveil the design of the new Southern Maryland Research and Academic Building planned for completion on the SMHEC campus in fall 2020.
