Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Accepting Applications

Pax to Close Outbound Gate 2 Traffic During Morning Rush
NAS Patuxent River’s Gate 2 will close its outbound lane during morning rush (5am to 9am) until further notice beginning July 25, 2025, in the interest of sentry safety.
Donations Sought for Schools’ Shoe Fund
Donations are being sought for the St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ Shoe Fund. The fund provides shoes to children in the school system who are in need of shoes and have limited financial resources.
Dougherty Nominated to Lead NAVAIR
The White House has nominated RADM John Dougherty to lead NAVAIR, currently led by VADM Carl Chebi. Other new nominees are MAJGEN Christian Wortman to lead I Marine Expeditionary Force, RADM Jeffrey Czerewko, to lead Navy personnel, and LTGEN Michael Borgschulte to superintendent of the US Naval Academy.
Public Cooling Centers Available July 25 in St. Mary’s
