NavSec Del Toro Violates Hatch Act
NavSec Carlos Del Toro violated the Hatch Act for voicing support for President Joe Biden during a work trip to the United Kingdom in January. The Hatch Act prohibits federal officials from participating in political activities while serving in their official capacity and in their federal workplace.
MD Offers $1.6M to New Wind Companies
Offshore wind projects got a $1.6 million boost from the Maryland Energy Administration to fund additional projects by emerging companies. Grants will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis for qualifying proposals until Jan. 1, 2023, or until all funding has been awarded.
US to Review Wind Project Off Ocean City
The US Dept. of the Interior will conduct an environmental review of an energy-producing wind project proposed by US Wind about 10 nautical miles offshore of Ocean City, MD, and Sussex County, DE. US Wind submitted the $8.7M winning bid to develop the Maryland lease area in a 2014 lease sale. A 30-day public comment period runs through July 8, 2022, as Interior determines the scope of its environmental review.
