The St. Mary’s Airport Rules special meeting, postponed from Jan. 14, is rescheduled during the Airport Advisory Board’s regular January meeting, Jan. 28 at 6 pm at the Airport Terminal Building, Hollywood, MD.

Science Fair Set Jan. 26 at Great Mills HS

TPP Conference Postponed Until May 21
Dr. Christopher Ekstrom, deputy oceanographer and navigator of the US Navy, will address issues and approaches to providing positioning, navigation, and timing solutions in a GPS-denied environment as the keynote speaker at a one-day conference held by The Patuxent Partnership on May 21.
Naval Academy Falling Apart
A Naval Audit Service’s report says the US Naval Academy had decaying walls, plumbing issues, and condemned offices and balconies, determining the college’s infrastructure has degraded to the point of threatening its ability to train midshipmen.
Continuing Education, Healthcare Students Honored
New traditions were forged in December at the College of Southern Maryland. The school held its first recognition and pinning ceremony for students who had completed parts of the Continuing Education and Workforce Development Healthcare programs.

Expect a ‘Leaner, Agile’ Resurrected 2nd Fleet
The resurrected 2nd Fleet will become operational by early next year. The fleet will oversee the training of Navy forces on the East Coast. Expect the fleet to be “leaner, agile, and more expeditionary” than it was when deactivated in 2011.
