Free COVID Vaccines Offered to Children
A free COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 6 months to 18 will be offered January 19, 2024, from 9 to 11:30am and 1 to 3pm at the St. Mary’s County Health Department in Leonardtown. Appointments are required; call 301-475-4419.
Holiday Schedule for County Offices
In observance of the upcoming holidays, all St. Mary’s County government administrative offices and the health department will be closed December 25 and 26, 2023, and January 1, 2024.
Chronic Disease Action Team to Meet
The Chronic Disease Action Team of the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership will hold its next meeting from 1 to 2pm Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Event Shines Light on Recovery
The annual St. Mary’s Goes Purple Walk for Recovery will be held from 9am to noon Saturday, September 9, 2023, in the Leonardtown Square. Early registration is recommended.
Overdose Awareness Day Vigil Planned
Join St. Mary’s County Health Department and Beacon of Hope at Church of the Ascension in Lexington Park on August 31 for a gathering to educate, comfort, and advocate on behalf of those who have survived overdose, been lost to overdose, and community members who care about these struggles.
Medicaid Renewal No Longer Automatic
When the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, Marylanders who were eligible for Medicaid were automatically enrolled each year. This year, Medicaid renewal is no longer automatic.
Learn About Safe Food Handling
The St. Mary’s County Health Department will offer a free introductory virtual class on safe food handling from 5 to 8pm July 12, 2023.
