Health Dept. Changes COVID Operations
The St. Mary’s County Health Department is changing its COVID-19 operations, including testing, vaccination, contact tracing, and data reporting.
Immunization Clinics Announced for Rising 7th-Graders
The St. Mary’s County Health Department will offer Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough) and meningococcal (meningitis) vaccines for currently enrolled sixth-graders (rising seventh-graders) at immunization clinics during the week of April 18, 2022.
Overdose Awareness Event Planned
An International Overdose Awareness Day event will be held in Lexington Park from 4 to 6 pm Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
Back-to-School Vaccine Clinics Set
The St. Mary’s County Health Department will offer free back-to-school vaccine clinics for children up to age 18 who live in St. Mary’s. Three clinics will be held at Spring Ridge Middle School.
Rabid Fox Caught in Lexington Park
The St. Mary’s County Health Department reports that a fox captured near Hilton Drive in the Lexington Park area has tested positive for rabies.

COVID Testing Site at Bay District Closing
The St. Mary’s County Health Department COVID-19 testing site at the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department in Lexington Park is closing. The last day of operations will be Friday, March 26, 2021.
