CSM Celebrates Gottfried’s Legacy

College of Southern Maryland and nearly 300 supporters celebrated on June 3 the legacy of retiring President Dr. Brad Gottfried. His 11-year tenure was highlighted during “Celebrating a Career, Building Futures” at the Center for Trades and Energy Training on the newly dedicated CSM Regional Hughesville Campus, one of Gottfried’s most recent visions realized.

Williams Chosen for Civic Fellowship

College of Southern Maryland student Elle Williams, 20, of La Plata has been selected to be a part of the Newman Civic Fellowship Program.

New CSM Tuition Rate Set

College of Southern Maryland students will see an increase in tuition for the fall 2017 semester. Tuition for residents of Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties will increase by $2 per credit to $125 per credit, a 1.6 percent increase.

Through a partnership with the Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, the College of Southern Maryland has established a new associate degree in maritime operations technology. Representatives from both schools signed a memorandum of understanding on June 5.

The Greater Waldorf Jaycees Foundation and College of Southern Maryland Foundation have teamed up once again to offer a financial boost to 49 current and future students at CSM who are scholarship recipients.
