Three members of the College of Southern Maryland’s women’s soccer team have been awarded scholarships to play for the Glenville State College Pioneers in the fall 2017 season. Glenville State College is in Glenville, West Virginia.
For the Sisters at Heart, it’s a matter of the heart. The local cancer survivor group has honored its leader, Roberta Kieliger of La Plata, by creating a scholarship in her name at the College of Southern Maryland.

The College of Southern Maryland Cause Theatre will present “9 Parts of Desire.” The play examines the Iraqi mindset through the eyes of nine Iraqi women. It will be performed three times from March 16-18 at the La Plata Campus.

The College of Southern Maryland Children’s Theatre will present “Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical,” a play by Mo Willems about a girl and her father dealing with the loss of a beloved stuffed animal.

From students working on higher education to former students who have already earned their degrees, employers will find a multitude of potential employees at the Tri-County Job and Career Fair on March 28, 2017, at the College of Southern Maryland La Plata Campus. Employers who want to participate in the job fair can register until March 10 on the CSM website.
Community leaders and The Diversity Institute at the College of Southern Maryland are working together to present a screening of the documentary “13th,” directed by Ava DuVernay, at 6:45 pm March 9 at the College of Southern Maryland La Plata Campus. The doors will open at 6:30 pm.
College of Southern Maryland students traveled to Annapolis on Feb. 8 to meet with their state legislators. The visit to the state capital was part of Student Advocacy Day, an annual event sponsored by the Maryland Association of Community Colleges.
