MedStar Gets Top Safety Grade
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown has earned an “A” in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade, an honor that recognizes the hospital’s superior efforts to protect patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the country.
Open Enrollment Has Begun in Md.
The 2019 Open Enrollment period began Nov. 1 and continues through Dec. 15, 2018. Congressman Steny H. Hoyer released a statement on the first day to remind Maryland residents to take advantage of the period and update their health insurance.
Healthy SM Partnership Electing Officers
Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership is seeking nominations for the elected positions of HSMP co-chair and vice chair. Individuals serving in these roles provide overall leadership for HSMP. Sheriff’s District Office Coming to Lexington Park
A construction contract has been awarded to build a new Sheriff’s Office District Office in Lexington Park. The contract was awarded by the commissioners of St. Mary’s County in late October.
CSM’s Bee Campus, More Get Grant Boost
The Chaney Enterprises Foundation awarded the College of Southern Maryland two grants in September for a total of $20,000 for the college’s efforts inside and outside its classrooms. Programs like the Bee Campus and skills training are getting a boost.
CSM Has Nursing Associate-to-Bachelor Pathway
Associate-To-Bachelor’s nursing degree pathways are available at CSM. These pathways, which include agreements with Frostburg State University and Stevenson University Online, give students the opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree potentially faster and more affordably.
