Airport Open House Draws From Land & Air

The St. Mary’s Airport Open House showcased the planes, drones, pilots, and businesses turning the airport into a regional hub of pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Visitors could see and touch, and in some cases climb into the cockpits of the aircraft filling the tarmac.

There will be something for everyone at the St. Mary’s Airport Open House from 10 am to 4 pm Oct. 7, 2017 — demonstrations and displays of airplanes and drones; STEM activities, robotics, a kids corner with balsa airplane races, food from Linda’s On the Go, and more.

EAA Introduces “Young Eagles” to Flying

Every June, through its Young Eagles program, the local Experimental Aircraft Association takes youngsters flying, for free, out of St. Mary’s Airport.

Airport Seeks Community Input

The St. Mary’s County Regional Airport is preparing for a multi-year program of expansion and is actively soliciting community input for the development of its proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program. A teleconference will be held at 10 am Dec. 13.
