Free open houses are offered at the Drayden African American Schoolhouse in Drayden one Saturday a month from 11am to 2pm. Open house dates: July 1, August 5, September 2, and October 7.

Some local museums will offer free admission for military members on Armed Forces Day Saturday, May 20, 2023. Leonardtown will host a free US Navy Band Country Current concert.

There’s still time to enjoy the holidays at some of St. Mary’s County’s museums. The St. Clement’s Island Museum, the Old Jail Museum, and Piney Point Lighthouse Museum, have holiday exhibits through New Year’s Day.
A Retro Christmas in Piney Point
The Piney Point Lighthouse Museum is ready for its Retro Christmas exhibit. An open house November 27 will offer a fun experience where visitors can see a very unique holiday exhibit in the museum setting.
