A Day of Fun Along the Potomac
Enjoy a day of family fun along the Potomac and at the Piney Point Lighthouse with live music, food, vendors, displays, and a variety of kids and family activities from 10am to 4pm September 14. Admission is free.
Closings for Labor Day Holiday
All St. Mary’s County government administrative offices will be closed Monday, September 2, 2024, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Offices will resume normal operating schedules September 3.

Celebrate National Lighthouse Weekend
The community is invited to join in celebrating National Lighthouse Weekend on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum & Historic Park in Piney Point.
Open House Aug. 3 @ Drayden Schoolhouse
The St. Mary’s County Museum Division, in partnership with the Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions, will offer a free open house at the Drayden African American Schoolhouse in Drayden from 11am to 2pm August 3.
Things Are STEAM-ing @ Piney Point Museum
Children ages 8 to 12 are invited to enjoy four days of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programming at the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum from July 8-11, 2024, or July 22-25, 2024.

A free open house will be offered at the Drayden African American Schoolhouse in Drayden from 11am to 2pm Aug. 3.
2nd Saturday Outdoor Family Activities
All ages are invited to enjoy new outdoor activities while visiting the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum of the St. Clement’s Island Museum on the second Saturday of the month throughout the year.
Blue Star Museum Program Begins May 18
Historic St. Mary’s City and St. Clement’s Island and Piney Point Lighthouse museums will join the Blue Star Museums initiative, a program that provides free admission to currently serving US military personnel and their families. The 2024 program runs May 18-September 2.
Community Conversation on County’s Museums
Community Mediation of St. Mary’s County will hold the first Community Conversations event of the year from 2 to 5pm February 10. Sign up for tickets now.
