2023 Juneteenth Festival Set in Lex Park
The Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions is excited to host this year’s Juneteenth African American heritage celebration on June 17 at John G. Lancaster Park in Lexington Park.
Program Offers Laptops for Eligible Residents
In an effort to advance equal access to technology for St. Mary’s residents, county government will distribute 4,500 HP Chromebooks for free, while supplies last, to local households with an income at or below the national poverty level. Four distribution dates are planned at the Lexington Park Library. Check to see if you qualify.

Black Civil War Soldiers Exhibit Makes Stop in Lex Park
The “Seventeen Men: Portraits of African American Civil War Soldiers” exhibit will make a stop in Lexington Park. The traveling exhibit will be available free to the public on select days September 7 through December 7, 2022. An opening reception will be held 3 to 6 pm Thursday, September 1, 2022.

The St. Mary’s County Museum Division, in partnership with the Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions, will offers open houses for visitors and the community at the Drayden African American Schoolhouse in Drayden. The next open house will be August 6, 2022.
UCAC Committee to Join Sotterley Event
Historic Sotterley will present People and Perspectives on February 9, 2022, with a panel featuring the Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions Education Committee.
Juneteenth Event to Feature Jazz Concert
The Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions’ 2021 Juneteenth celebration will be held Saturday, June 19, in Lexington Park. A jazz concert will be featured from 4 to 6 pm.
