Piney Point Lighthouse Museum will hold a four-day outdoor summer educational STEAM program for children ages 6 to 10. The camp will run from 9 am to noon July 19 to 22, 2021.
Navy Conducts Shock Trials for New Carrier
During full ship shock trials Friday in the Atlantic Ocean , the US Navy triggered an explosion near the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier with a 40,000-pound bomb. The blast registered as a 3.9 magnitude earthquake.

JSHS Symposium Winners Are On to Nationals
The Patuxent Partnership and its partners, the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division and St. Mary’s College of Maryland, congratulated the 20 student finalists in the virtual Maryland Regional JSHS competition held last month.
