Junior Historian Program at Piney Point
A Junior Historian program at the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum, designed for children 7 to 10, combines outdoor exploration with hands-on history lessons. The program will run from 9am to noon July 28 to 31, 2025.
Jazz Brunch & Golf Event Planned
A brunch and golf event has been added to the 2025 Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival schedule. The jazz brunch and optional golf experience will be held at Wicomico Shores Golf Course from 11am to 1pm July 13.
Dads Can Visit Free June 15 at Piney Point, St. Clement’s Museums
St. Clement’s Island Museum and Piney Point Lighthouse Museum will offer free museum admission for dads on Father’s Day, June 15, during normal operating hours 10am to 5pm.
County Govt. Memorial Day Operations
All St. Mary’s County government administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Some Recreation & Parks facilities will be open.
Blue Star Museum Program Begins on Armed Forces Day
St. Mary’s County Museum Division will offer free admission to its museums and historic sites for actively serving members of the armed forces, as well as up to five family members, from Armed Forces Day until Labor Day.
Rebels & Redcoats Head to Piney Point
Rebels & Redcoats: A Southern Maryland Revolutionary War Family Event will be held in Piney Point from 10am to 4pm Saturday, April 5, 2025.

A SHINE Grant for Museums’ Friends
The Friends of St. Clement’s Island & Piney Point Museums nonprofit was recently awarded $10,000 from Maryland Humanities through the Hatza Memorial SHINE, or Strengthening the Humanities Investment in Nonprofits for Equity, grant program.
