Video Will Highlight Previous Flag Day Events

The 2020 St. Mary’s County Flag Day festivities will be presented as a retrospective video to be aired on county government’s Channel 95 and the YouTube Channel on Sunday, June 14.

STS Buses Return to Regular Schedule

Effective Monday, June 15, St. Mary’s Transit System regular bus service will resume Monday through Friday, extending some routes to 9 pm.

Library Outlines Reopening Plans

The St. Mary’s County Library has announced its Phase 1 reopening plans. The book drops at all three library locations — Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown, and Lexington Park — will be opened to receive checked out materials June 17. All three locations will start curbside pickup of reserved materials June 22.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is accepting entries for its annual photo contest. Photographers, novice or professional, can enter for the chance to win cash and other great prizes. The deadline is Aug. 31, 2020.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will offer license-free fishing days June 6, June 13, and July 4 — a free option to explore Maryland’s diverse and unique fishing experiences without needing a fishing license, trout stamp, or registration.

Gallery-V Seeks ‘Quarantine’ Submissions

Gallery-V, an emerging online exhibit space, is accepting submissions for its first show, “Quarantine Dreams.” Anyone with art created during the COVID quarantine may submit now through June 26, 2020.

FDR Blvd. Monterey-Kinnegad Extension to Open

The extension of FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park — from Monterey Lane to the roundabout at the intersection of Kinnegad Drive/Castletown Way — will be open to traffic on Tuesday, June 9.
