FDR Blvd. Monterey-Kinnegad Extension to Open

The extension of FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park — from Monterey Lane to the roundabout at the intersection of Kinnegad Drive/Castletown Way — will be open to traffic on Tuesday, June 9.

Progress is quickly being made on the major improvements to FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park, but that means a small section of Athlone Drive will be closed for about two weeks in September.

New Phase of Road Work to Begin Aug. 15

FDR Boulevard road work is continuing, and drivers in that area should expect delays in the coming weeks. Driving on FDR Boulevard, First Colony Boulevard near the First Colony Shopping Center, and Old Rolling Road might be a little bit more difficult and require some planning as the construction progresses and FDR gets closer to completion.

It’s been half a century on the books, another decade in court, but Great Mills Trading Post is turning FDR Boulevard into a connector road in the heart of Lexington Park, practically overnight.
