State AG Files Lawsuit Against MetCom Over Sewage Overflows

The Maryland Attorney General’s Office filed a civil complaint Thursday in the Circuit Court for St. Mary’s County against the St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission over continued sewage overflows from its sanitary sewer system.

Southhampton Slated for New Roads, Water & Sewer

St. Mary’s County and the Metropolitan Commission will be displaying their plans Sept. 29, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm, for a revitalization project in Lexington Park’s Southhampton Neighborhood, across Rt 235 from Pax River. The project includes reconstruction of roads, sidewalks, driveway aprons, storm drainage system, new stormwater management facilities, and improvements to the public water and sewer systems.

The St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission’s Consumer Confidence Reports are available for public viewing. Twenty-eight individual reports covering all testing completed from January through December 31, 2021, in the Annual Water Quality Report may be viewed at MetCom’s website.

DoD has put a hold on the full-rate production of the F-35. The Pentagon says technical challenges and the impact of COVID-19 have delayed preparation of the simulation facility where the combat testing will be conducted.
