Delegation Presses USPS on Postal Problems
Maryland’s congressional delegation, including Rep. Steny H. Hoyer, pressed US Postal Service officials for answers on problems with mail delivery, postal backlogs, and lost letters and packages in communities throughout the state.
F-35B Sea Trials on Cavour Completed
The four-week sea trials on the Italian navy’s Cavour aircraft carrier for the operational use of the F-35B fighter jet have been completed. The trials — more than 115 ski jump short take-offs, 120 vertical landings, and two vertical take-offs – were conducted with two specially instrumented F-35Bs that belonged to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 23 from NAS Patuxent River.

The Patuxent Partnership and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division have opened registration for the next NAWCAD Industry Day to be held April 20, 2021.
V-22 Milestone: 600,000 Flight Hours
A milestone for the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey as the tiltrotor aircraft logs more than 600,000 flight hours since the count began with the first flight in 1989. The V-22 family of aircraft are designed to fly for the next 30 years and remain the only tiltrotor in production.
Webster Field Issues Noise Advisory
Communities surrounding the Webster Outlying Field are advised that low-altitude helicopter and general aviation aircraft flight test events are scheduled to take place 9 am to noon March 27 and 2 to 6 pm March 29, 2021.

The St. Mary’s County Health Department COVID-19 testing site at the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department in Lexington Park is closing. The last day of operations will be Friday, March 26, 2021.
