Business Incubator Created in St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s County is looking for an entity to manage the county’s new business incubator, which is currently under construction at the St. Mary’s County Regional Airport. The county has issued a Request for Proposals in the amount of $1,350,000.

Jobless Rate Down, Jobs Gain Up Slightly
The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest report shows a slight gain of private sector jobs in March 2017. This makes 85 consecutive months of job growth in the US. The unemployment rate was 4.5 percent, down from 4.7 percent over the past month.

Volunteers Needed at Lego Robotics Event
College of Southern Maryland will be the venue for the Lego Robotics Championship on April 8, 2017, and volunteers are needed to help out on the day of the event. The Patuxent Partnership has put out a call to members to be a part of the event.

In honor of Women’s History Month, The Patuxent Partnership, Leadership Southern Maryland, and Women in Defense welcome Stephanie Hill, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems Cyber, Ships, and Advanced Technologies. She will speak March 30.
