Local Firm Earns Manufacturing Grant


Twenty-three Maryland small businesses were awarded manufacturing grants to promote industry innovation. Among the recipients was Compendium Federal.

2 St. Mary’s Firms Earn ExportMD Grants


Two St. Mary’s County firms — Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology and Parraid LLC — were awarded ExportMD grants from the Maryland Department of Commerce.

Loan Program Expanded for Small Businesses

More than $198 million in federal funding is available to help spur economic growth and support Maryland’s small businesses recovering from the pandemic. Rep. Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) said the funds were available through the State Small Business Credit Initiative program.

The Maryland Department of Commerce is launching “Innovation Uncovered,” a program to highlight Maryland’s innovators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in 2020.

Lockheed Launches AM Supplier Challenge


Lockheed Martin, in partnership with the University of Maryland and the Maryland Department of Commerce, is seeking qualified suppliers with innovative additive manufacturing technology to help deliver sustainment solutions. A virtual information session is planned July 14.
