2023 marked the 50th anniversary of women in naval aviation, an anniversary that celebrates when the first women began flight school in Pensacola, FL, in 1973.

TPP Presents Dynamic Program on Naval Aviation & National Security

The Patuxent Partnership held its 2023 Defense Summit last month with an audience of 250-plus attending the program of dynamic panels, as well as speakers from NAWCAD and NAVAIR leadership discussing naval aviation and national security. This was TPP’s first full-day program since fall 2019.

Navy Boosts Air Ops in ’23 Budget

The Navy wants to spend an additional $1.4 billion on air operations in the next year and increase flight hours. The Navy slated $10.1 billion for air operations for FY23 — up from the $8.7 billion that was enacted for FY22 — to “maximize readiness and lethality” in naval aviation.

RADM Sohl to Speak at Naval Aviation Panel

RADM Paul “L.J.” Sohl, commander of the Operational Test and Evaluation Force, will be the speaker during a panel titled Execution and Test of Innovative Naval Aviation Programs, hosted by The Patuxent Partnership. The event will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019, from 5 to 7 pm at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum in Lexington Park.
