Vance Would Be First Marine VP

J.D. Vance, a former Marine corporal, is the first military veteran on a major presidential ticket since former Senator John McCain in 2008 and the first former enlisted vet on the ballot since former Vice President Al Gore in 2000. If elected as former President Donald Trump’s vice president, Vance would be the first Marine to become second-in-command.

DoD Issues Report on Its Telework Practices

The Pentagon releases a new report on teleworking practices since the pandemic sent majority of employees to work from home. Among the findings: 47% of those responding said their productivity increased while working from home during the pandemic, 41% felt they were about as productive while teleworking as they were in the office, and nearly 12% felt their productivity slipped.

Navy Wants $5B for 3 More Destroyers

Task Force

The US Navy wants to build three more Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and is asking Congress for more than $5 billion in the next fiscal year. Building the warships would bring the number of guided-missile destroyers the Navy has procured to 85.
