Registration is now open for those wishing to participate in the 46th annual Veterans Day Parade in Leonardtown. Floats, bands, schools, Scouts, clubs, cheerleaders, bikes, vintage cars, and horses are some of the entries that will be accepted.

2 COVID Cases Close Leonardtown Library
The St. Mary’s County Library in Leonardtown will be closed until September 9 after two employees tested positive for COVID this week. The Lexington Park and Charlotte Hall branches of the library remain open.
Town Hosting Taste of St. Mary’s
Spend the afternoon Saturday, September 11, in the heart of downtown Leonardtown sampling the best dishes that local restaurants have to offer. The family fun event will have a variety of food and drinks for purchase, kid friendly activities, free entertainment, and a classic car show. The St. Mary’s Historical Society is helping to publicize the event.

New EV Charging Station Coming to Lex Park
Gov. Larry Hogan announced last week that $3.7 million in electric vehicle charging infrastructure is being awarded to 37 sites using funds from Maryland’s settlement with Volkswagen for air pollution violations. Among the locations for a public fast charging station is the Ashley Homestore at 21716 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park.
