Appraiser Fair Jan. 25 @ St. Clement’s Museum

You might have a hidden treasure in your attic or garage and not even know it. Visit with expert appraisers as they determine the value of your prized possessions at the St. Clement’s Island Museum Appraiser Fair from 10am to 3pm January 25, 2025.
Appraisers for various types of items will be available at the museum. Only items that can be hand-carried will be appraised. Space is limited and items will be viewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Appraisers will be available to offer oral appraisals to the public for the following categories: fine arts, dolls, jewelry, coins, and currency. The fine arts category includes ceramics, pottery, glassware, artwork/paintings, music boxes, and small furniture pieces. Items in this category are limited to two items per person at a fee of $5 per item.
Other category fees are $5 each. Cash, credit card, and check are accepted.
Friends of the St. Clement’s Island and Piney Point Museums members get two free appraisals and may enter the event venue starting at 9:30am.
The Washington Conservation Guild, a nonprofit organization of conservation professionals, will offer free preservation guidance for the items you bring to the Appraiser Fair.
While admission is free, there are various small costs for item appraisals (Normally $5 each; cash and check only).
For the fine arts category, there is a two-item limit per person. This category may close early due to high attendance. Due to the popularity of this event, prepare for long waiting times.
Items that that are not hand-carried will not be accepted for appraisal. Appraisals are not certified; however, one can make arrangements for a certified appraisal at a later date and time.
The public may experience long wait times for fine art appraisers.
