70 Years of Lions Club Celebrated

5K Run, Walk to Benefit Veterans Charity
Leonardtown High School student Emma Miller is planning a fundraiser for Operation Warrior Refuge. A 5K Fun Run and Walk will be held Aug. 27, 2016, at Greenwell State Park.
LEAD Maryland Tours Water Facility
Members of LEAD Maryland’s Class IX, 2015-2016 went to the Marlay Taylor Water Reclamation Facility on Wednesday, June 8, to tour the facilities. During the tour, discussion centered on the Enhanced Nutrient Removal construction upgrades that are underway at the Lexington Park facility.
St. Mary’s Surgeon Receives Honors
Dr. John Roache has touched the lives of countless patients in St. Mary’s County, many of whom are multiple generations of the same family, as well as friends, co-workers, and neighbors, for more than 42 years at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. As the respected and renowned surgeon retired from his long career, the St. Mary’s County commissioners honored him with a ceremony to thank him for all his years of service.

Kids Can Get Free Airplane Rides
Kids between 8 and 17 years old can join the Experimental Aircraft Association to get airplane rides from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the St. Mary’s County Regional Airport.
