See ‘The Little Mermaid’ This Summer

The Little Mermaid

Summerstock 2016 will present Disney’s “ The Little Mermaid ” on the Great Mills High School stage Friday through Sunday, July 29-31. A Saturday matinee (July 30) begins at 1 pm. Sunday evening shows begin at 3 pm while all other evening shows will start at 7 pm.

The musical production is based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the animated film by Disney. This beautiful love story includes music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater.

The show is sponsored by ADF Bingo and the St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks. Tickets are $14 for adults, $10 for senior citizens 60 and older, and $6 for children 10 and younger. For the matinees, tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens 60 and older, and $4 for children 10 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the Recreation and Parks main office in Leonardtown. If you buy your tickets online, you must print them and bring them to the show. Online ticket purchases are a good idea, since the show is likely to sell out; buy them early because they must be purchased no later than noon the Friday before the show you plan to attend.

Doors open an hour before each performance for ticket sales. Seating begins 30 minutes before the show. Ticket sales at the door can only be done with cash. Call 301-475-4200, ext. 1800 for more information.
