Sixty-six students were welcomed to the College of Southern Maryland with a reception in the Center for Trades and Energy Training CORE construction lab on the Hughesville Campus.
Construction Management Program Answers Demand
October is Careers in Construction Month. To celebrate, the College of Southern Maryland is having its Construction Management Technology program students ready for the 2019 Rebuilding Together In Charles County event with an eye on managing construction work, as well as performing it.
Volunteer Fair Nov. 1 at North Point

Frankenstein Comes to CSM Children’s Theatre
The Children’s Theatre at the College of Southern Maryland is ready to present the perfect show for Halloween. The Southern Maryland community’s young actors will perform “Frankenstein” at 7 pm Oct. 26 and 2 and 7 pm Oct. 27.

Soprano Jenni Dunn will open the Benny C. Morgan Recital Series at 3 pm Oct. 20 at the College of Southern Maryland’s Leonardtown Campus.
Scouts Get Merit Badge Training at CSM
Boy Scout Troop 413 and Girl Scout Troop 4998 of St. Mary’s County recently visited the College of Southern Maryland for help and guidance from faculty in earning their Electricity and Carpentry badges at the Regional Hughesville Campus.

Lenny Gold Wins Training Award
College of Southern Maryland associate Lenny Gold, who is the Maryland Center for Environmental Training lead technical assistance provider, has earned the Water and Waste Operators Association’s Stanley E. Kappe Training Award.
TPP Establishes CSM Pathways Scholarship
College of Southern Maryland received a large gift from The Patuxent Partnership. The group recently presented $10,000 to the CSM Foundation to establish a TPP Pathways Scholarship Fund for students who are interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity or science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
Reni Gower Exhibit Starts Oct. 15 at CSM
The Reni Gower “Proof Perfect” exhibit will run from Oct. 15 to Nov. 8, 2018, at the College of Southern Maryland’s Tony Hungerford Memorial Art Gallery.
