Veterans Day Parade Set in Leonardtown
Congressman Steny Hoyer and Gov. Larry Hogan have been invited to participate in Leonardtown’s annual Veterans Day Parade at 10 am Nov. 11. The parade is sponsored by the St. Mary’s County commissioners and the Leonardtown commissioners.
SMECO Focuses on Sustainability
Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has recently reiterated its commitment to minimizing its carbon footprint and increasing the amount of renewable energy in its power portfolio. SMECO issue a position statement on sustainability in October to document its progress on meeting those goals.
Ornament Show and Sale Starts Nov. 18

Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center in Solomons is offering its ninth annual Ornament Show and Sale Nov. 18, 2016, through Jan. 1, 2017, in the Murray Arts Building. The second half of the sale coincides with the Annmarie Garden in Lights, running Dec. 2 through Jan. 1.

Cast Announced for CSM’s ‘Pinocchio’

Job Growth Continues in October
US Department of Labor’s October 2016 jobs report shows continued trend of job growth; 142,000 private sector jobs were added and the unemployment rate remained steady at 4.9 percent.
F-35B Testing Begins Aboard USS America
The US Marine Corps has started testing its F-35B Lightning IIs aboard the Navy’s amphibious assault ship, USS America. Two F-35Bs will undergo the third shipboard phase of developmental test and five are scheduled to conduct operational testing.
