The St. Mary’s County Health Department, in partnership with the St. Mary’s County NAACP and the Minority Outreach Coalition, is launching a new local Get Out the Vax campaign on Feb. 27, 2021.
Schools Change Meal Distribution Schedule
Beginning March 1, St. Mary’s schools’ curb-side meal distribution will change the time of its Monday, Wednesday, and Friday pick-up hours to 11:30 am to 1 pm. Meals are available for students ages 18 and younger. Meals can be picked up from any school site even if your student attends a different school.

Consortium Management Group Inc., manager of the Naval Aviation Systems Consortium, provided $30,000 to St. Mary’s College of Maryland for the purchase of a research-grade microscope, The Patuxent Partnership announced.

Stop-and-Proceed at Pax Gates
Unlike the current entry procedure, where drivers come right up to the gate and show their credentials, the new stop-and-proceed will have drivers stop at a painted line with posted signage and wait to be signaled forward by the Naval Security Forces sentry

VP Harris to Keynote Virtual Program
Congressman Steny H. Hoyer announced that the 40th annual Black History Month celebration will go virtual this year. It will take place at 10 am Feb. 27, 2021, and Vice President Kamala Harris will be the keynote speaker. The theme of this year’s celebration is “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity.”
Navy to Require Oath to US Reaffirmed
“Revisit the oath that you took,” DefSec Lloyd Austin tells service members. All services must complete the stand-downs before April 2 to address extremism. The Navy will require its sailors to reaffirm their oaths to the Constitution.
