Historic Preservation Commission Accepting Award Nominations
The Historic Preservation Commission is seeking nominations for outstanding achievements in historic preservation in St. Mary’s County. These awards, first established in 1999, recognize groups, individuals, and projects that further the aims of historic preservation in St. Mary’s County. The deadline for submitting nominations is 5pm April 16, 2026.
St. Mary’s Govt. Easter Schedule
St. Mary’s County government administrative offices will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of the Good Friday and Easter holidays. Offices will resume normal schedules April 6.

April Open for Rockfish Catch-Release
April is again open for the rockfish catch and release season in the reconfigured 2026 striped bass regulations that went into effect March 30. The new regulations also closed the season for all of August, during the hot, final weeks of the summer.
