CSM Makes a Big Splash
It wasn’t a wellness center. It was a tropical paradise. On May 7, the College of Southern Maryland Leonardtown campus Wellness and Aquatics Center was transformed for the second annual Splash for Scholarships fundraiser, and more than $80,990 through cash and in-kind donations was raised in support of student scholarships, exceeding last year’s total of $73,225.
CSM Business Programs Reaffirm Accreditation
Business programs at the College of Southern Maryland have earned reaccreditation through the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
CSM Students Awarded Degrees, Certificates
Hundreds of students crossed the stage May 19 to receive their degrees and certificates during the spring commencement ceremony at the College of Southern Maryland’s La Plata campus. All told, the college awarded 560 candidates for 882 degrees and certificates – the largest spring graduating class ever.

Golfers Sought for Gelrud Memorial Tournament
Three Oaks Center is seeking golfers to play in its annual Jack Gelrud Memorial Golf Tournament. The tourney will be held at noon Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Breton Bay Golf and Country Club at 21935 Society Hill Road in Leonardtown.

Medstar Honors D’Esposito for Volunteer Work
MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital named Kay D’Esposito the 2016 Fayrene Mattingly Auxilian of the Year during its spring luncheon Friday, April 8. The luncheon also commemorated the auxiliary’s 100th year serving the hospital.
Brick Girls Win Robotics Challenge
The Brick Girls of Barstow Elementary, the school’s robotics team, took home the Robot Performance and Champion’s Award for elementary schools at the LEGO Robotics Challenge on April 16 at the College of Southern Maryland.
