An ACBSP site visit team toured the College of Southern Maryland, conducted interviews in March 2016, and presented to faculty and staff the major points they reported to the Associate Degree Board of Commissions. Among those meeting during the site visit were, from left, ACBSP members Laurie Boeding and Yohannes Agegnehu, CSM Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Eileen Abel, Christine Roumbanis, and CSM Business and Technology Chair Bernice Brezina.
Business programs at the College of Southern Maryland have earned reaccreditation through the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
A site visit team from ACBSP conducted interviews and campus tours in early March 2016 and then reported to faculty and staff the major points they presented to the Associate Degree Board of Commissions.
CSM first received accreditation from ACBSP in 1995. The reaffirmation process is required every 10 years to maintain ACBSP accreditation.
“The College of Southern Maryland has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the process,” said ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Dr. Steve Parscale, who will present the Certificate of Reaffirmation of Accreditation at ACBSP Conference 2016 in Atlanta, GA, on June 19.
“This reaffirmation of accreditation is evidence that CSM is committed to maintaining the highest quality business education for their students for the next 10 years, just as they have done since 1995,” Mr. Parscale said.
The college offers 15 degrees, certificates, and letters of recognition through its Business and Technology Division, including accounting, business administration, hospitality management, legal studies, management development, and office skills. Degrees in business administration have ranked among the top programs for students who graduate from CSM.
ACBSP was established in 1988 and is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs.
