Also expected shortly is an update of the National Defense Strategy. As many of the world’s seas are increasingly seeing more activity, the US Navy is anxious for more guidance.

The USNS Mercy hospital ship conducted its first-ever flight deck landing of a V-22 Osprey last week. The MV-22B Osprey is assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 21 of NAS Patuxent River.

UK’s Top Test Pilot Compares F-35, Harrier

The Royal Air Force’s top test pilot says there is no comparison between the F-35 and the Harrier. Andy Edgell, stationed at NAS Patuxent River, said the F-35 and the Harrier, despite broadly doing the same thing (landing vertically), are “almost incomparable” in flying terms.
