St. Mary’s Surgeon Receives Honors

Dr. John Roache has touched the lives of countless patients in St. Mary’s County, many of whom are multiple generations of the same family, as well as friends, co-workers, and neighbors, for more than 42 years at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. As the respected and renowned surgeon retired from his long career, the St. Mary’s County commissioners honored him with a ceremony to thank him for all his years of service.

Kids Can Get Free Airplane Rides

Kids between 8 and 17 years old can join the Experimental Aircraft Association to get airplane rides from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the St. Mary’s County Regional Airport.

Torch Run to Benefit Special Olympics

This year’s annual St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on Friday, June 10, will begin at 9 am in San Souci Plaza. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome to join in at the starting point at Mission BBQ.

A new book club for veterans has scheduled a book discussion of “If You Lived Here” at the Lexington Park Library on June 3.
