St. Mary’s Closings for Veterans Day

Veterans Day

All St. Mary’s County government administrative offices will be closed Thursday, November 11, 2021, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Leonardtown will host its annual parade.

Join in the Veterans Day Parade Nov. 11


Registration is now open for those wishing to participate in the 46th annual Veterans Day Parade in Leonardtown. Floats, bands, schools, Scouts, clubs, cheerleaders, bikes, vintage cars, and horses are some of the entries that will be accepted.

Oct. 18 is the registration deadline for those wishing to participate in the annual Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11 in Leonardtown.

Vets Day Parade Begins 10 am Sunday


The public is invited to salute America’s veterans at the 43rd annual Leonardtown Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, Nov. 11. The march, which starts at 10 am, is sponsored by the commissioners of St. Mary’s County and Leonardtown.

Independence Day Closings

St. Mary’s County will honor veterans and active duty military in one of the largest Veterans Day parades in Maryland from 10 am to 1 pm Saturday, Nov. 11, in Leonardtown. A memorial wreath-laying ceremony follows the parade in the town square.

Congressman Steny Hoyer and Gov. Larry Hogan have been invited to participate in Leonardtown’s annual Veterans Day Parade at 10 am Nov. 11. The parade is sponsored by the St. Mary’s County commissioners and the Leonardtown commissioners.
