College Honored for Workplace Excellence
Efforts to make the College of Southern Maryland an employer of choice are paying off. CSM won workplace excellence awards from the Alliance for Workplace Excellence. CSM was awarded AWE’s Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval, the Health & Wellness Seal of Approval, and the EcoLeadership Award.

CSM Center Dedicated to John Harms
The College of Southern Maryland recently celebrated the naming of the John E. Harms Academic Center on its Prince Frederick Campus.
CSM Foundation Has New Board Members
Three new members have been added to the College of Southern Maryland Foundation’s board of directors — James Andreacci of Lexington Park, Christy Lombardi of St. Leonard, and Jerry T. Sanford of Bowie.
Di Misa Appointed as CSM Trustee
James Di Misa of Charles County has been appointed by Gov. Larry Hogan to serve the College of Southern Maryland as trustee, effective July 1, 2017 through 2022. Mr. Di Misa will replace Michael L. Middleton, whose term expires June 30, 2017.
Student Athletes Given Honors at Banquet
It was an evening to recognize sportsmanship, academic achievement, and athletic excellence. Student athletes were honored for the 2016-17 season at the College of Southern Maryland’s annual athletic awards banquet held at the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Center in May.
Students Awarded for CSM Leadership
Students and organizations at the College of Southern Maryland that have made lasting impacts on the campus were recognized by the college for their CSM leadership and ability to effect change within Southern Maryland during the annual Student Government Association banquet.
Harwood New Chair of CSM Trustees
Theodore L. Harwood of St. Mary’s County has been appointed chair of the College of Southern Maryland Board of Trustees and Bradley O. Bates of St. Mary’s County has been appointed vice chair.
Drone Classes Set in Prince Frederick
The College of Southern Maryland will offer two new drone classes this summer at its Prince Frederick Campus.
Design Work Earns Marketing Award
College of Southern Maryland Advancement Division employees received a Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations for their work.
