It’s been 100 years since the US entered World War I, and the Southern Maryland Studies Center is taking the opportunity to honor the sacrifices of local soldiers who have risked their lives, as well as remember the WWI impact on this region.

The conference attracted more than 150 people to hear from local experts on the issues faced by nonprofits and community leaders.

CSM Celebrates Gottfried’s Legacy

College of Southern Maryland and nearly 300 supporters celebrated on June 3 the legacy of retiring President Dr. Brad Gottfried. His 11-year tenure was highlighted during “Celebrating a Career, Building Futures” at the Center for Trades and Energy Training on the newly dedicated CSM Regional Hughesville Campus, one of Gottfried’s most recent visions realized.
