St. Mary’s Voting Districts Have Changed
Do you know who your Delegate is? Two of St. Mary’s County Legislative Districts have significantly changed shape. Incumbent Delegate Brian Crosby will no longer represent the Piney Point peninsula. Legislative District 29C still covers Leonardtown but has added from Callaway south to St. George Island for the 2022 elections: Primary July 19; General Election Nov. 8, 2022.
Hogan: Maryland Is Cyber Capital of US
Gov. Larry Hogan touts Maryland as the “cyber capital of America” at a recent bill signing in Annapolis. The state is home to 60 federal civilian agencies and 20 military installations. Three bills from this year’s legislative session aim to strengthen the state’s cybersecurity network.

SMR Celebrates Flight Academy Opening
An endowment from The Patuxent Partnership has enabled St. Mary’s Ryken High School in Leonardtown to open a STEM lab flight program. TPP board members joined faculty and staff of the school to celebrate the opening May 3.

A bill introduced in the US Senate would create a Space National Guard. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said that not establishing a Space National Guard was a mistake when the US Space Force was formed.
