Forum’s Focus Is So. Md. Transportation Issues
The success of businesses in St. Mary’s County has led to population growth, but all that success has translated to transportation issues on the region’s roads. Come to a forum Aug. 29, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Patuxent Naval Air Museum in Lexington. The forum is being publicized with help from The Patuxent Partnership.
College Opens Fitness, Nature Trail in Leonardtown
College of Southern Maryland has opened a renovated Fitness and Nature Trail on its Leonardtown Campus. Open to the community, the trail is intended for recreational and educational use.
Undersecretary Griffin to Speak July 13
The Patuxent Partnership has arranged a briefing by Dr. Michael D. Griffin, the undersecretary of defense for research and engineering, from 8 to 9:30 am Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center at 44219 Airport Road in California, Maryland.
St. Mary’s Land Preserved by Easement
More land in St. Mary’s County will be preserved and protected from development well into the future. In November 2016, Patuxent Tidewater Land Trust secured a conservation easement on more than 156 acres in the Mattapany Rural Legacy Area in southern St. Mary’s County.
