MEDA Conference Comes to St. Mary’s
The Maryland Economic Development Association is planning its 2017 Fall Conference for Oct. 23, 2017, at Patuxent River Naval Air Museum, with support from The Patuxent Partnership and various St. Mary’s County organizations. The event will be held from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
STEM Festival Comes to St. Mary’s
St. Mary’s County Public Schools is planning its third annual STEM Festival and Expo, supported by The Patuxent Partnership and other partners.

‘Missiles of October’ Documentary to Be Shown
A viewing and discussion of the documentary, “The Missiles of October: What the World Didn’t Know,” will be presented Wednesday, Oct. 18, the 55th anniversary of the Cuban missile crisis when the secret deployment of Soviet missiles in Cuba brought the world to the brink of a nuclear war.
NAWCAD’s Taylor to Speak in Dahlgren
The Patuxent Partnership will present Leslie Taylor, executive director of the Naval Air Warfare Center Division and deputy assistant commander for Test and Evaluation at NAVAIR, speaking from 8 to 9:30 am Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the University of Mary Washington in Dahlgren.

Donations Sought for Hurricane Relief

The Patuxent Partnership and the Center for Study of Democracy at St. Mary’s College will host a viewing and discussion of the documentary, “The Missiles of October: What the World Didn’t Know,” on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
5th-Graders Bring Robotics for All
What began as a research project by a group of Ridge Elementary School fifth-graders is now a countywide STEM initiative making robotics available to all 18 St. Mary’s County public elementary schools.
