Fort Liberty Name Out. Fort Bragg Is Back
The Pentagon will change the name of Fort Liberty in North Carolina back to Fort Bragg. The Army base was originally named for Confederate GEN Braxton Bragg; the order lists another Bragg as its new namesake – PVT Roland L. Bragg of Maine, who fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.
County Govt. Presidents Day Operations
All St. Mary’s County government administrative offices will be closed Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of the Presidents Day holiday. Offices will resume normal operating schedules February 18.
JSHS Regional Symposium Feb. 22
The Patuxent Partnership will lead the 2025 Maryland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium on February 22. Students throughout Maryland were invited to participate and compete for scholarships and the opportunity to present at the national level.
