COVID-19 Precautions Spreading in Region
The presence of the coronavirus in Maryland is shuttering public events throughout the region, including the annual Maryland Day celebration at Historic St. Mary’s City where Maryland’s first statehouse was built and convened.
Canceled: March 14 FAA WINGS Program
In light of the current COVID-19 situation and after consultation with the FAA, St. Mary’s County Regional has postponed the WINGS events scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th, at the St. Mary’s County Regional Airport. The program will be rescheduled later in the year.

NAS Pax River is investigating 18 sites where a fire extinguishing foam might have been used which contains a substance (PFAS) the Navy calls an “emerging public health concern.” In addition to Pax River being investigated, Webster Field in St. Inigoes, MD, will be investigated as well.
