A new GIS-based program has been created for urban areas to begin planning for the arrival of air taxis as early as next year within their jurisdictions. The eVTOLs are already on tap for transportation needs during the summer of 2024 at the Paris Olympics.
Pilots Take First-Ever Crewed Flight in Military-Worthy Electric Aircraft
US Air Force pilots conducted the first-ever crewed flight of an electric aircraft — an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) — with military airworthiness. This milestone, which took place at BETA Technologies’ Plattsburgh, NY, facility earlier this month was the culmination of a two-year partnership between BETA and the Air Force’s Agility Prime program.
MQ-25 Conducts First-Ever Unmanned Aerial Refueling
The MQ-25 Stingray program’s first-ever aerial refueling of a manned receiver aircraft by an unmanned tanker was successful. The test took place June 4 out of MidAmerica Airport in Illinois.
