Immunization Clinics Announced for Rising 7th-Graders
The St. Mary’s County Health Department will offer Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough) and meningococcal (meningitis) vaccines for currently enrolled sixth-graders (rising seventh-graders) at immunization clinics during the week of April 18, 2022.

Cargo Removal Next Effort to Float Ever Forward

Funds Available for Food, Shelter Programs
St. Mary’s County has been awarded federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Nation Shelter Board Program to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. The award amounts St. Mary’s County will receive are $86,833 (Phase ARPA-R) and $28,221 (Phase 39). Deployments in Europe Likely to Remain Into Summer
The Pentagon said that thousands of troops mobilized over the past few months to Eastern Europe will most likely remain into the summer. DoD also announced that the US will send additional aid to Ukraine: $300 million more in military supplies, including drones, laser-guided missiles, armored vehicles, and machine guns.

Hawkeye Crashes Near Md.’s Eastern Shore
A US Navy E2-D Hawkeye aircraft crashed Wednesday evening off the coast of Virginia near Wallops Island and Chincoteague, killing one and injuring two others. The deceased crew member has been identified as LT Hyrum Hanlon.
