In today’s technologically dependent regime, denial of electronic means impedes the ability to function effectively. Deny, monitor, manipulate and evaluate are pieces of Electronic Warfare (EW) and the topic of the next Patuxent Partnership (TPP) and Association of Naval Aviation (ANA) panel.

Electronic Attack is the offensive suppression of an adversary’s electromagnetic spectrum, focused primarily on radars and communications. Since World War Two, the EW mission has existed in basic methods such as chaff, a rudimentary noise jamming technology. Today, Navy operations utilize Airborne Electronic Attack platforms such as the EA-18G Growler due to its capacity to operate in high threat environments.

Rear Adm. Mark “Bam Bam” Darrah, Program Executive Officer, Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (PEO U&W), the keynote speaker for the evening, said, “New airborne electronic attack systems are essential to address growing mission demands and to counter anticipated future threats.”

RADM Darrah served as the first EA-18G Deputy Program manager when the program office was established in January 2003. “We are pleased to have Rear Adm. Darrah as our keynote speaker and offer his expertise on such a technical and timely topic,” TPP Executive Director Bonnie Green said.
