Ongoing Traffic Signal Work on 235, Great Mills Road
The Maryland State Highway Administration is preparing for signal operations enhancements and/or reconstruction at several intersections along Route 235 and Route 246 in Lexington Park and Great Mills.
Solomons Bridge Work Set March 9
Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will conduct a routine inspection on the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge. The inspection will occur between 6am and 2pm Sunday, March 9, 2025, weather permitting.
SHA’s 235 Pedestrian Safety Initiatives

Solomons Bridge Inspection Continues Dec. 9

Night-Time Solomons Bridge Inspection This Week
The Maryland State Highway Administration will begin a multi-day routine bridge inspection of the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge over the Patuxent River beginning November 4.
Nighttime Work Set on Solomons Bridge
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin pavement repairs on the MD 4 Bridge over the Patuxent River (Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge) at the Calvert/St. Mary’s County line. The nighttime work will begin Sunday, September 29.
Hilton Run Bridge Replacement Begins
The Maryland State Highway Administration is beginning construction on a $6.8 million replacement of the MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) bridge over Hilton Run south of Great Mills. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
