Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, in Solomons, Maryland, will host Annmarie After Hours on Friday, March 18, 2016, 6-9pm, to celebrate the opening of three new exhibits – Threads: a sampling of fiber arts, the Artist In Action Gallery Show & Sale, and the Color & Light Society Spring Show and Sale. This triple opening will feature the work of more than 60 artists, from spectacular fiber works to ceramics, watercolors, and sculpture. Make a date with Annmarie to enjoy a casual adult evening of great art, wine & beer, light hors d’oeuvres, and live music. Enjoy appetizers by Dream Weaver Events & Catering and great local live music. No reservations required! Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members. You must be at least 21 years of age. Owl Prowl: hot drinks and hoots, Friday, March 18, 7-9pm

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, in Solomons, Maryland, will host their first-ever Owl Prowl: hot drinks and hoots, on Friday, March 18, 7-9pm. The public is invited for an afterhours hike through the garden in search of nocturnal residents! Your guides will be Hester Burch, Annmarie Naturalist, and special guest Bob Boxwell, Executive Director of the Cove Point Natural Heritage Trust. Bob is an environmental educator and avid birder, with a special love for owls of all sorts! Meet in the Murray Arts Building and grab a complimentary hot drink to take with you! The prowl will take you down an asphalt path and through the woods, so wear sturdy shoes; flashlights are encouraged. This event is designed for adults. Cost is $3 and includes a hot drink; reservations are not required.

Discovering Spring – A Poetry Reading & Open Mic, Sunday, March 20, 2:30-4:00pm

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, in Solomons, Maryland, will host Discovering Spring – A Poetry Reading & Open Mic, on Sunday, March 20, 2016, 2:30-4:00pm. The public is invited for an afternoon of poetry inspired by Spring featuring well-known poets Rocky Jones, Elisavietta (Lisa) Ritchie, Andre “Brenardo” Taylor, and Grace Cavalieri. The reading will be emceed by noted poet Hiram Larew, and will include an open mic period, as well as time for networking and socializing. Some of the poets will have their books available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are not required; regular admission fees will apply.
