annmarie garden

Here’s your chance to roam Annmarie Garden to search for owls. Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center will present its Owl Prowl: Hot Drinks & Hoots! from 7 to 9 pm March 18.

No registration is required.

Join garden visitors as they roam through the garden searching for its noctural residents. The guides will be Hester Burch, Annmarie naturalist, and special guest Bob Boxwell, executive director of the Cove Point Natural Heritage Trust. Meet in the Murray Arts Building promptly at 7 pm and grab a complimentary hot drink to take with you. The prowl will take visitors down the garden’s asphalt path and through the woods, so wear sturdy shoes; flashlights are encouraged. This event is designed for adults. Cost is $3 and includes a hot drink.

Special note: guests who would like to remain and enjoy the concurrent Annmarie After Hours event will be asked to pay the $5 admission fee for that event.

Another event this weekend will be Discovering Spring – A Poetry Reading & Open Mic 2:30 to 4 pm Sunday, March 20.  The public is invited for an afternoon of poetry inspired by spring featuring poets Rocky Jones, Elisavietta “Lisa” Ritchie, Andre “Brenardo” Taylor, and Grace Cavalieri.  The reading will be emceed by poet Hiram Larew, and will include an open mic period, as well as time for socializing.  Some of the poets will have their books available for purchase. Light refreshments served. Reservations are not required; regular admission fees will apply. For information, contact Mr. Larew at [email protected].
